St. Ives always has the nicest body lotions and this one is no exception. Its rich properties are cleverly designed to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. Instantly rehydrated and enriched by the product’s Collagen and Elastin Proteins, the skin is left feeling softer, healthier and with a smooth appearance.
Collagen forms approximately 80% of the dermis, the layer of skin beneath the epidermis, the outer layer. It plays a vital role in the body’s connective tissue and adds strength and firmness to your skin. As its name suggests, Elastin provides elasticity to the skin, giving flexibility and the chance for skin to go back into shape after activity. Together, they work to keep our skin looking in tip top condition.
St. Ives Body Lotion Renewing Collagen Elastin is an ideal cream to use when these two key proteins are depleted owing to environmental stressors and the effects of ageing.
The cream is free from Parabens, the chemicals sometimes added to beauty products to preserve them and is hypoallergenic, so suitable for those with sensitive skin. The one disappointment with this new formula however, is that it’s not quite as nice as its predecessor. The smell’s not quite as nice and although St. Ives has come up trumps with their facial collagen moisturiser, this one’s not quite hitting the mark. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts but will still be on the lookout for a body lotion that performs 100% for the price.
