Positives

Very well built, stunning large HD screen, fast, lag-free UI experience, very good camera, great battery life, Nokia Here sat nav app.

Negatives

Non-removable battery, Windows OS still behind Android and iOS in terms of features, customization and number of apps, too big for some people.

How To Buy

Things to consider

Though the Nokia Lumia 1520 is a modern smartphone, everyone has different preferences when it comes to what they want from a smartphone. With that in mind, here are the top things we believe you should be aware of before buying the Nokia Lumia 1520:

  • The polycarbonate body of the phone is prone to chipping or scratching if dropped, put in a pocket with metal coins or keys, or handled roughly. We therefore recommend you invest in a case and screen protector (see accessories)
  • The back of the phone is non-removable which means that you can’t replace the battery and repairs are more difficult and expensive than on some other phones, especially without specialist tools and repairs are more difficult and expensive than on most other phones, especially without specialist tools
  • It is a large phone (162.8 x 85.4 x 8.7 mm) so probably not suitable for some people, especially those with small hands
  • The Nokia Lumia 1020 uses a micro-SIM

I have had this phone for 6 weeks (used to have an iPhone 5) and I love it. It’s solidly built, had a great camera and is really fast and lag free.
