OS:

The Design: Aluminum frame with curved and smooth plastic back.

The Display: 5.96", AMOLED, 2560 x 1440 pixels, 493 ppi pixel density.

The Camera: 13MP camera, autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash, 2160p 4K video recording @ 30fps, 2MP front-facing camera.

The Audio: Stereo front-facing speakers are capable of producing high-quality sound and above average loudness.

The Call Reception & Quality: Both good.

The Battery: Capacity: 3220 mAh. Talk time: Up to 24 hours. Standby time: Up to 330 hours.

The UI Speed: Smooth and fast, with almost no lag even with several demanding applications open in the background. Rarely, you'll notice a tiny stutter, probably due to the fact this smartphone has to push so many pixels.

The Overall Experience: The Google Nexus 6 is the latest smartphone carrying Google's name. This time around it's manufactured by Motorola, and if you're familiar with their line of products, you'll immediately notice Nexus 6's resemblance to Moto X. The phone is solidly constructed, and features the best processor out there at the moment, along with massive 3GB of RAM. This will ensure smooth performance, even though the display is pushing so many pixels. Camera is quite good as well. It can record 4K video and thanks to somewhat bulky size of the phone there was enough room for optical image stabilization, which helps deliver smooth videos. Battery is large, but thanks to the high resolution of the display, it doesn't really shine when it comes to on-screen time. It's the most expensive Nexus ever released by Google, but considering the hardware - it's definitely worth the price.

Positives

Razor-sharp display, latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, great camera with optical stabilization.

Negatives

Simply too big for some people, heavy and wide, it's the priciest Nexus ever released.

How To Buy

Things to Consider

Though the Google Nexus 6 is a modern smartphone, everyone has different preferences when it comes to what they want from a smartphone. With that in mind, here are the top things we believe you should be aware of before buying the Google Nexus 6:

  • The plastic back of the phone is prone to chipping or scratching if dropped, put in a pocket with metal coins or keys, or handled roughly. We therefore recommend you invest in a case and screen protector
  • The smartphone is huge, and if you have smaller hands it will prove quite difficult to use. Also, it’s quite difficult to squeeze the Nexus 6 into a skinny jeans pocket
  • The Google Nexus 6 uses a nano-SIM
