Brand:

Who is it For: 1. People Who Want to Drink Clean Water. 2. People who want to reduce the amount of minerals in their tap water. 3. People who want to remove water impurities.

Directions: Wash all plastic parts thoroughly before use and run two jugs full through the filter, discarding both, before ultimate use begins. Keep an eye on the lid's indicator which is there to remind you to change the filter monthly or after 300 litres of filtered water.

Longevity: The cartridges last for 30 days or for 300 litres, whichever is the sooner. However, if you believe that you haven't used the filter jug as much one month, you can choose to reset the indicator for a further month, without affecting the taste or quality of the water.

Positives

Clean, pure water, low running cost, easy to use, always available, nicely chilled

Negatives

Lid could be built better, dismantling a little awkward

Bottom Line

A good quality product which provides the user with exceptionally clean, clear and pure water. Economical to run, you probably won’t want to be without one again. Only downside, dismantling can be a little tricky but constructs well again afterwards.

Brita Maxtra Water Filter

The Brita Water Filter produces clean, clear and pure water which tastes better, in my opinion, than any bottled or tap water that I have previously tried.

The filter is both easy to use and cheap to run. The cartridge produces 300 litres of pure filtered water and the jug fits conveniently into a space in my fridge door. There are a variety of colours that you can choose from when purchasing the jug. The unit has a cartridge replacement indicator in the lid, so it is always visible and acts to remind you that you need to change the cartridge roughly every 30 days.

Dismantling the jug in order to clean it periodically can be a little awkward, as I always fear that I might break it but it always fits back together nicely. The lid assembly could be slightly better built perhaps but overall the quality is more than adequate. The initial set up of the filter is a bit lengthy as you have to rinse it before use and then wait whilst two successions of water filter through and get discarded before you can finally use it properly.

Having said all of this, I wouldn’t be without one now as the taste is second to none and you can be assured you are getting really lovely fresh healthy water which, if kept in the fridge, is continually available and chilled ready for use.
